This painting was done possibly 4/5 years ago (2018). Daffodils are beautiful happy cheery flowers. I love the promise of Spring. Snowdrops and Crocuses also special. But Daffodils are so hard to paint. So much drawing, and changes of value. How to make yellow darker in value without making it green or brown. So I challenged myself with this painting, but I don't think it came out right. So I don't paint Daffodils anymore. I just enjoy them. By David Goldberg, Irish landscape artist.
